Why Good Postpartum Care Sells Out — And What It Means for Your Due Date
March at Sanhu House Is Full
We’re sharing this not as a sales tactic, but as an honest update: our March availability is fully booked. If your due date falls in that window, we want you to know, and we want to share why this happens, so the same thing doesn’t catch you off guard for April, May, or June.
Coordinated Postpartum Care Isn’t a Hotel Booking
Most families think about postpartum support the way they’d book a hotel room: call, check availability, confirm. But premium postpartum care, the kind that actually supports recovery, not just baby-watching, works very differently.
At Sanhu House, every family gets a care team that is matched to them specifically. Your doula team. Your lactation consultant. Your Sanhu Circle group, which includes 24/7 WhatsApp access to your care team and clinical support. That team is built around your birth plan, your recovery goals, your household, your schedule.
That team has real capacity. And that process takes real time.
Why High-Demand Months Fill Fast
Spring due dates cluster. Holiday babies, New Year babies, the natural rhythm of LA family planning, all of it means that April, May, and June are consistently high-demand months. Combine that with a coordinated care model that requires a proper intake before your family is matched, and you have a recipe for early waitlists.
Think about how you booked your OB or midwife. The best providers fill up early. Postpartum care works the same way, but most families don’t realize it until they’re trying to book at 38 weeks.
What Early Booking Actually Secures
When you reach out early, here’s what you’re locking in, not just “a spot”:
Your preferred doula team. Not whoever’s available last minute, but the team that’s the right fit for your family.
Your intake conversation. We learn about your birth history, recovery priorities, and household logistics before you’re in the postpartum fog.
Add-ons confirmed in advance. Nutrition support, spa recovery, overnight care, these are scheduled and ready when you deliver, not figured out after.
Equipment set up and waiting. Your Hatch, your bassinet, your recovery kit, all arranged and in place before you come home.
What to Do If Your Due Date Is This Spring
If you’re due in April, May, or June, now is genuinely a good time to start the conversation, not because we’re trying to pressure you, but because the intake takes a bit of time and we want to make sure you get the team that’s right for you.
The best first step is a quick consult call. We’ll talk through your due date, what you’re looking for, and what’s available in your window. No commitment required.
A Note on Benefits and Reimbursement
If you have Carrot Fertility through your employer, Sanhu House care is often reimbursable. We’re a Carrot-approved provider, and we’ll provide the documentation you need for submission. We’re also able to provide superbills for HSA/FSA reimbursement. This is a good thing to explore early, your benefits team may need time to process pre-authorization.
FAQ
How far in advance should I book postpartum care?
We recommend starting the conversation at 20 to 28 weeks. This gives us time to do a proper intake, build your care team, and confirm add-ons and equipment before your due date.
What happens if I’m due in a high-demand month?
We’ll check availability honestly. If your preferred window is full, we’ll talk through what options exist, including flexible scheduling, partial packages, or waitlist priority.
Does early booking mean I commit to a full package right away?
No. The initial consult is a conversation, not a commitment. We’ll tell you what’s available and what makes sense for your situation.
What’s included in the intake process?
We’ll cover your birth plan and history, recovery priorities, household logistics, schedule preferences, and any specific needs (IVF history, PPD/PPA, NICU experience). This helps us match you with the right team.
