Our Matrescence Care Specialist conducts an in-depth planning call with every family, then matches you based on geography, availability, and genuine fit with what the family needs. By the time you hear a client's name, the relationship has already been built on your behalf.

You walk in prepared, not guessing

Before your first shift with a family, you receive a care briefing: their birth story (or plan), recovery priorities, feeding goals, household dynamics, and anything the previous doula flagged in her handoff notes. You're not piecing the picture together on someone's couch at 8 a.m. because you already have it.

You're trained in a methodology, not just onboarded

Every Sanhu House doula learns our care model, oriented around the Korean postpartum traditional pillars of Warmth, Rest, and Nourishment. It's a structured curriculum covering postpartum physiology, the guest experience, and the philosophy behind why we do things the way we do. Doulas who go through it tell us it changes how they show up with every family, not just ours.

You have a thought-partner, not just a dispatcher

Our Matrescence Care Specialist isn't just the person who places you. She's the person you call when a case gets complicated, when you want a second opinion on feeding support, or when something about a family's recovery isn't sitting right. You communicate with the team through a shared platform in real time, so no one is ever the only person who knows what's happening with a client.

You own your schedule and your practice

You work as an independent contractor with no shift minimums. You set your own availability and coverage zones across LA and Orange County.
Invoicing is biweekly and straightforward. The infrastructure is here so you can build a sustainable practice on your own terms, not so we can dictate them.
