In-home postpartum care for the fourth trimester
Care that stays after everyone else goes quiet.
The weeks after birth ask the most of a mother and give her the least. Sanhu House brings steady, in-home care through the fourth trimester, warmth, recovery, and nutrition built into every visit, working alongside your OB, midwife, or pediatrician.

How the partnership works →The window we hold
Care surrounds a mother through birth, then goes quiet.
Through pregnancy and delivery she is rarely alone. Then she goes home, and her next scheduled visit may be six weeks away. She can still reach her provider when she needs to. What's missing is someone in the house day to day, and that is the window Sanhu holds.
What presence looks like
Trained hands and attentive eyes, in the home, through the night.
Our care isn't a checklist or a single visit. It's a steady presence through the weeks when recovery actually happens, warmth, recovery, and nutrition carried day to day, so the things that matter don't slip by.
The mother, first
Rest, nourishment, physical recovery, and room to heal. When the mother is cared for, everyone around her feels it.
Support that stays
Hands-on feeding support through the early weeks, the stretch of time when feeding goals are most often kept or quietly given up.
Someone who notices
Feelings rarely keep to a schedule. Being there across the weeks means an early change is met with care instead of missed between appointments.
A steadier landing
Newborn care, siblings, sleep, and the rhythm of the house, held steady while the family finds its footing.
For your care team
We work alongside your practice, never in place of it.
Sanhu is a non-clinical, wraparound partner to your care: doulas, IBCLCs, and coordinators connected through the Sanhu Circle, extending your reach into the home for the weeks between visits, and bringing anything that matters back to you.
We're there between your visits
Sanhu is present in the home through the weeks your schedule can't reach, so the small things get caught before they grow.
Straight back to you
If something needs your attention, we get word to you quickly, in the way your practice prefers to hear it.
A loop that closes
You refer, we stay close, and anything that matters comes back to you. You remain the decision-maker at every step.
Our rule is simple. We observe and route; we never measure and assess. We don't check vital signs, perform exams, or weigh and assess a baby's growth. When we notice something, we bring it to the person responsible for that care.
Sanhu House is an approved Carrot Fertility provider, and postpartum care is often FSA/HSA eligible. It's one more reason a referral here tends to feel easy for the families you send.
Why this window
The most important weeks get the least support.
This isn't a gap in your care. It's a gap in the way postpartum care is built, and leading voices in obstetrics have been saying so for years.
An ongoing process
ACOG now describes the weeks after birth as the "fourth trimester," calling for care that continues rather than a single six-week visit.
Beyond the snapshot
A single check-in is one moment in time. Being there across the weeks is how the things that surface between visits get seen, then passed back to your provider.
Where feeding drifts
Feeding goals most often shift in the early weeks at home, well before a clinic visit would catch it. Steady support in that window is what changes the outcome.
How we care
Mother centered. Globally influenced. Tailored for you.
Mother centered
American postpartum care often centers the baby. We center the mother, her recovery, her rest, her wellbeing, trusting that the whole family is steadier for it.
Globally influenced
Rooted in sanhujori, the Korean tradition of warmth, recovery, and nutrition after birth. East meets West: we draw on how cultures around the world have quietly cared for new mothers for generations, coordinated through one wraparound team, the Sanhu Circle, instead of a stack of separate providers.
Tailored for you
No two recoveries are alike. Every stay is matched to the family it serves and shaped around the life it's entering.
Begin
Family or provider, the door's the same.
Sanhu House provides non-clinical, in-home postpartum support. We do not provide medical care, diagnosis, or treatment, and our care complements rather than replaces the care of your OB, midwife, or pediatrician. In an emergency, call 911.
